Violet & Vine is a family-run floral design company based in the Lincoln countryside. Julie, our artisan florist, runs the show but all her loved ones help to handle behind-the-scenes details.
Julie, as most would expect, loves flowers. This fondness has always been there. It was in her first home, or rather her first garden, in East London 1983, flower growing began. Then, when taking some time out of teaching, Julie completed a floristry course in Chichester in 2008.
When asking Julie about floristry, she said “I gain so much from gardening and working with flowers. It is so therapeutic for me and I get so much pleasure from seeing others enjoying my flowers too.”
Flowers fill a real spiritual need for us all and here at Violet & Vine we want to share that joy with everyone. The scents and fragrance are so important in all our arrangements. But the meanings, the folklore, as well as the history behind their healing tendencies all go into what we do and hope to emanate.
David, Julie’s husband, supports in all aspects of the business. He is a fantastic photographer and often finds himself chauffeuring floral designs all over Lincoln! His latest project has been building flower beds to expand the cutting garden (stay tuned for progress on our floral pursuits). Is there anything this man can't do!?
Isabelle is Julie’s good friend as well as the girlfriend of her daughter, Jessica. Isabelle is a huge flower lover - mad on all things luscious and wild. Julie and Isabelle often plan a lot of the creative ideas together, collating their shared tastes whilst pawing over Instagram and Pinterest!
Daisy and Jessica are Julie and Dave’s beautiful daughters. This pair are absolute pros in all things marketing and media related! Without them this website blog would not even exist! Always at hand to resolve any technical issues or to advise on how to get our name out there! So much skill and so willing to give hints and tips at all times. Thank you so much girls!
